Breaking with tradition, Erik Blake has brought his wife and mother to celebrate Thanksgiving at his daughter’s new, slightly dingy apartment in Lower Manhattan. As darkness falls outside the pre-war duplex, eerie things start to go bump in the night, and the deepest fears, financial strains, and hidden heartbreaks of the Blake clan are exposed.
Called "an absolute triumph" by the New York Theatre Guide, The Humans finds a gorgeous, bittersweet balance between humor and sadness, hope and dread. It is an empathetic, exceptionally moving portrait of working-class familial imperfection and the enduring affection that keeps us together.
